Tektronix MDO4000 Lands on Hot 100 List
World's First Mixed Domain Oscilloscope Named to the EDN Hot 100 Products of 2011 List by the Magazine's Editors and Readers

(firmenpresse) - BEAVERTON, OR -- (Marketwire) -- 11/21/11 -- Tektronix, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of oscilloscopes, today announced that the series has been named to -- and is one of just nine products in the Test & Measurement category. The revolutionary new MDO4000 is the world's first oscilloscope to include a built-in spectrum analyzer, helping design engineers save time by looking at time-correlated analog, digital, serial and RF signals on a single instrument.
"Of the many thousands of products announced during the past year, the EDN Hot 100 products of 2011 represent the ones that especially caught the attention of our editors and our readers," said Rich Pell, Executive Editor of EDN Magazine. "The Tektronix MDO4000 mixed domain oscilloscope was clearly one of the most significant product introductions in the Test & Measurement category in 2011."
More than 60 percent of oscilloscope users also use a spectrum analyzer to troubleshoot embedded designs with wireless functionality. With an MDO4000 Series on their bench, engineers can continue using their tool of choice, the oscilloscope, to look at the frequency domain rather than having to find and relearn a spectrum analyzer. For debugging, the MDO4000 goes well beyond typical spectrum analyzer functionality by allowing users to capture time-correlated analog, digital and RF signals across 4 analog, 16 digital and 1 RF channel.
In addition to its industry-first mixed-domain capabilities, the MDO4000 offers all the feature-rich tools of Tektronix MSO4000B Mixed Signal Oscilloscope Series combined with the features of a mainstream spectrum analyzer. The MSO4000B Series offers a robust set of features to speed every stage of debugging designs -- from quickly discovering an anomaly and capturing it, to searching waveform records for the event and analyzing its characteristics and the device's behavior.
"It is a true honor to be recognized by the editors and readers of EDN for the MDO4000, which we believe is a major breakthrough for designers," said Martyn Etherington, vice president, Worldwide Marketing, Tektronix. "It enables faster time to answer by simplifying common debug tasks for integrated wireless-enabled designs. For instance, engineers can now easily measure how long it takes an RF power amplifier to turn on after a command is sent on the device's serial bus. In other words, a measurement that simply wasn't practical prior to the introduction of this product."
