The ISOTEST trailing ground – a safe and reliable grounding, even without direct contact to the test object
The new ISOTEST trailing ground(firmenpresse) - Also the new trailing ground allows the safe and reliable testing with the ISOTEST – without a direct connection to the test object using a clipped connection.
The suitability for use in practice and the operating radius of the ISOTEST are considerably expanded. The robust and highly flexible stainless steel cable provides a basis for longevity and a safe and reliable grounding for the testing device – even under harsh conditions on-site. The stainless steel ball at the end ensures optimum ground contact and adaptation to the soil conditions. A sturdy strain relief protects the trailing ground from damage or accidental disconnection from the device.
Technical background
Proper grounding of the ISOTEST high-voltage testing instrument is an absolutely essential precondition for holiday detection. Only the grounding closes the power circuit. In this case it consists of:
1. the connection of the ISOTEST holiday detector with the bare pipe end,
2. the connection of the pipe to the ground potential (grounding stick) and
3. the contact between holiday detector and ground potential by means of the trailing ground.
Where no direct grounding is possible, the new trailing ground offers a practical alternative, and thus also allows the safe and comfortable testing with the ISOTEST.
