Orca Health Wins Launch! Session at Health 2.0 Europe
More Than 150 Companies Applied to Present at Health Conference in Berlin
(firmenpresse) - PARK CITY, UT -- (Marketwire) -- 11/23/11 -- The only American company participating in the Launch! session at Health 2.0 Europe in Berlin, won the popular vote of conference attendees.
Matched up against two companies from the UK (How are you? and SXT Health CIC) and one each from Germany (PROTEGIA) and France (Withings), presented its recently released iOS app for the ear, nose, and throat (ENTDecide), as well as FootDecide and EyeDecide.
"We wanted to present at Health 2.0 Europe because it would send the message that we have global aspirations -- that we are developing health care solutions for the world, not just the United States," said Matt Berry, Founder and CEO of Orca Health.
In just a little over a year, has developed ten patient education medical apps for the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, and Mac, which are all now available on the App Store. Of these, six are orthopedic (SpineDecide, KneeDecide, ShoulderDecide, AgingSpine, HandDecide, FootDecide), two are cosmetic (BreastDecide, FaceDecide) and two are devoted to the senses (ENTDecide, EyeDecide).
Esther Dyson, a healthcare and technology thought leader, congratulated on their win via Twitter, "congratulations on winning the launch contest at #health2eu." Matthew Holt, Health 2.0 co-founder, echoed Ms. Dyson's sentiments by tweeting simply, "nice job."
