(firmenpresse) - SANTA CLARITA, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/23/11 -- Pamela Anderson and Last Chance for Animals (LCA) will be getting together for a compassionate Thanksgiving with the turkeys at The Gentle Barn at 10:00am on Thanksgiving Day.

On Thanksgiving morning, Pamela Anderson and boyfriend Jon Rose will join Christopher and Daniela Ameruoso of Last Chance for Animals (LCA) and Ellie Laks and Jay Weiner of The Gentle Barn, for a vegan Thanksgiving meal hosted by The Gentle Barn at their six-acre sanctuary in beautiful Santa Clarita, CA. After the compassionate meal of Tofurky and all of the vegan trimmings they will be feeding pumpkin pie to The Gentle Barn's eight rescued turkeys.

"We are excited to have Pamela visit The Gentle Barn and to give her her first tour of all the animals who have been fortunate enough to make their home here. Pamela has been a long time advocate for the rights of animals and we are thrilled she is coming to spend Thanksgiving with LCA and us at The Gentle Barn," said Laks.

LCA, a national animal rights organization based in Los Angeles, has been active for almost three decades. Founded and led by animal expert, author, and actor, Chris DeRose, LCA's roots began in exposing the inherent cruelty of vivisection. LCA fights for the rights of animals by conducting investigations that expose animal cruelty, launching public awareness campaigns, pushing animal friendly legislation and helping prosecute animal abusers. The Gentle Barn Foundation is a non-profit organization that was founded in 1999 as a safe haven and place of recovery for abused farm animals and children. Its unique philosophy rehabilitates animals and connects their stories of survival and healing to the personal experiences of inner city, at-risk and special needs children and adults who have suffered physical, mental or emotional trauma. Unlike most therapy animals who are selected for their docile temperaments and raised for service from a young age, each of The Gentle Barn's 130 farm animals has a history of neglect, abandonment and other abuses that are personally relevant to at-risk children. By interacting with the animals and taking a hands-on role in their welfare, those who participate in programs at The Gentle Barn learn empathy, kindness, strength, trust, forgiveness and leadership. The variety of programs offered promotes lifelong healing for both the people and the animals. The Gentle Barn is run by founder Ellie R. Laks and her partner Jay Weiner, both of whom were healed and supported by animals as children. They live on the six-acre property with their three children. The Gentle Barn is open to the public Sundays from 10:00am until 2:00pm. More information is available at .
