Helping customers and partners reach the cloud faster, Oracle announced the Oracle Solaris 11 Training and Certification Programs from .

Oracle Solaris 11 is the first Cloud OS, designed to meet the security, performance and scalability requirements of cloud-based deployments and allow customers to run their most demanding enterprise applications in private, hybrid, or public clouds. For more information, click .

Oracle Solaris 11 Training includes the most up-to-date curriculum from Oracle Solaris experts to give customers and partners the knowledge and skills they need to efficiently deploy Oracle Solaris 11 and capitalize on its latest features.

The courses are designed to help expand the skill-set and expertise of system administrators managing data centers with Oracle SPARC and x86 servers, storage and engineered systems.

The new courses available include , previewing the latest innovations in Oracle Solaris 11; , designed for experienced Oracle Solaris 10 system administrators; and and , intended for new Oracle Solaris or UNIX® system administrators.

Customers and partners can choose their preferred learning format by either attending an educational session at one of Oracle University's worldwide training locations, learning remotely via an Oracle University virtual classroom, or downloading self-study course materials designed for learning anytime, anywhere.

Oracle is also offering discounts on Oracle University's programs for Oracle PartnerNetwork (OPN) members, as well as discounts on training for Oracle Premier Support customers.



To date, there are more than 130,000 Oracle Solaris certified professionals.

With the latest release, Oracle Certification is raising the bar with new credentials. These include:

New and improved Oracle Solaris certifications emphasize more advanced skills to align better with industry standards and result in an even more valuable credential for customers and partners.

The Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) for Oracle Solaris 11 now has an all-new definition and focus, with certification objectives that measure IT professionals' day-to-day system administration skills, in addition to their ability to manage the challenges they are likely to encounter in many situations.

Building upon all of the competencies incorporated into Oracle's new OCA Oracle Solaris 11 certification, the Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) for Oracle Solaris 11 is the most advanced certification yet. The certification includes new advanced knowledge and skills required of top-performing system administrators.

Oracle now offers several upgrade paths for those who hold Sun Certified System Administrator (SCSA) or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification on Oracle Solaris 10 or earlier versions.
