HelpIQ Releases Help Authoring Tool that Makes it Easy to Create Online Help Documentation

(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/30/11 -- HelpIQ (), a cloud-based tool for creating and managing online help documentation and context-sensitive help, recently launched after spending a year building its web-based software. It is ideal for creating online user guides, FAQs, help docs, product manuals, and other documentation.

Leveraging the power of the cloud, companies can create their own custom-branded help-documentation website without developers or IT, starting at $24 per month.

Early feedback has been excellent. "I love the ability to edit the CSS right from the text editor," said Jae Evans, Documentation Manager at RightNow Technologies. "It's beautiful. I also like that you can search and filter from the table of contents."

Some key features of HelpIQ include: web-based (nothing to download or install), wiki-like interface, table of contents and index, WYSIWYG editor, video and rich media, analytics, multi-user collaboration, topic feedback and ratings, and embeddable context-sensitive help.

"End-users also want help when and where they need it. We designed HelpIQ with a powerful contextual help feature that enables companies to embed help directly into their own websites or web applications, without development or IT," said Brett Ryckman, founder of HelpIQ.

Many companies use desktop help-authoring tools. The biggest problem is that these tools generate a bunch of HTML files that have to be manually uploaded to a web server. If you make any updates, everything has to be recompiled and uploaded again. Making changes becomes slow and inefficient.

"We made HelpIQ work like WordPress," said Ryckman. Users only have to click the "save" button and the page is instantly online. Edits and updates are just as easy.

Before launch, HelpIQ performed usability tests to determine the best design and layout. "We tested wikis, blogs, and forums to determine the best design for help documentation. HelpIQ is the result of all that amazing feedback. Your users will love it," said Ryckman.
