Tieto to run IT operations for Nacka Municipality in Sweden
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - Tieto Corporation Press Release 4 December 2009 10.00 CETNacka Municipality has signed a contract with Tieto regardingprocurement of the municipality's systems operation corresponding toorders worth about SEK 50 million. This deal strengthens Tieto'sposition as a leading outsourcing partner in the Swedish market.Nacka is one of Sweden's leading municipalities in IT and is facingnew challenges, with greater demands on availability of themunicipality's systems. The plan is to make several of themunicipality's systems available 24/7."By giving Tieto responsibility for systems operation, we ensure thatservices and support are available to Nacka residents and our staff,even outside office hours," explains Mats Bohman, AdministrativeDirector at Nacka Municipality."Thanks to their existing well-established organisation for runningthese types of systems, we'll achieve maximum cost-effectiveness,better coordination and greater availability of the municipality'se-services," says Johan Särnquist, IT Strategist at NackaMunicipality.Nacka Municipality will now gain access to Tieto's capacity servicesin IT operation. This means that the municipality can sub-ordercapacity tailored to its requirements and needs.As part of the contract, four people from Nacka Municipality willjoin Tieto.
