Monterey, CA - December 7, 2011 - CerMed International (Frankfurt Stock
Exchange: CRX), an international women's medical device company, announced the
appointment of Blaine Rieke to its Board of Directors.
Mr. Blaine Rieke has over 35 years of experience within the financial industry.
He held an ever expanding set of senior management responsibilities that
culminated in the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Firstar Trust Company in
Milwaukee, WI. Mr. Rieke then became a General Partner with Huntington Partners,
a Chicago based equity investment firm. He was a Board member for over 10 years
with the ING Group, a major international financial institution. He also has
Board memberships in various financial institutions, community organizations,
and foundations. Mr. Rieke has an undergraduate degree from Nebraska Wesleyan
University, a law degree from the University of Nebraska Law School, and an MBA
from the University of Chicago.
Peter Gombrich, CEO and Chairman, stated: "As a women's health care company, we
have been very fortunate to have attracted very high caliber and accomplished
people to our Board of Directors. Blaine has extensive experience in finance,
has been involved in funding early stage companies and has always been very
protective of shareholder rights." Because of Mr. Rieke's extensive financial
experience, he will chair the Company's Audit Committee.
