Ontarians Prove They Are World-Class Recyclers With the RecycleYourElectronics.ca Mobile Tour
Participants encouraged to "drive up, drop off, do good" help shatter e-waste collection goal

From May to October Ontarians did their part to help the environment by diverting more than 233 tonnes of electronic waste from landfill as part of the RecycleYourElectronics.ca mobile tour. The tour saw the team travel 135,000 km to 36 remote and rural communities in and southern Ontario sharing information about safe, responsible recycling of unwanted electronics with more than 2 million people at festivals, fairs, and pow wows.
The RecycleYourElectronics.ca program is run by (OES), a non-profit industry organization tasked with diverting electronic waste from landfill and educating and encouraging responsible reuse and safe recycling of unwanted electronics.
"We are delighted with the response from enthusiastic Ontarians and First Nations communities whose participation helped us surpass our collection goal of 200 tonnes," says , Executive Director, OES. "With the help of residents and businesses, we collected the tonnage equivalent of two blue whales!"
The tour wrapped up with a collection event at the final game of the . The RecycleYourElectronics.ca team was also at every home game this season, providing fans a drop-off point for small electronics and offering games, giveaways and a chance to learn more about the responsible reuse and recycling of electronics.
As part of the tour, OES also partnered with to bring the RecycleYourElectronics.ca team to concerts.

RecycleYourElectronics.ca accepts across a province-wide collection network of hundreds of OES-approved and affiliated sites. As part of the tour, full collection stops were supported by advertising and community outreach to encourage residents to attend one or two-day events along with their end-of-life electronics in communities, from to , including:
