ST-Ericsson and Ericsson first to achieve LTE and HSPA mobility with
a multimode device
(Thomson Reuters ONE) - GENEVA, SWITZERLAND - Dec. 15, 2009 - ST-Ericsson, a world leader inwireless platforms and semiconductors, and Ericsson have successfullyachieved mobility between LTE and HSPA networks, using a multimodeLTE/HSPA device. The interoperability was realized in live networksfrom Ericsson in Stockholm, Sweden, using a multimode device poweredby ST-Ericsson's platform, M710.The companies took a further step towards a wide deployment of LTE bysuccessfully demonstrating a mobile broadband data call in an LTEnetwork and its handover to an HSPA network.
