National Bank of Canada - (TSX: NA) - The Chief Economist and Strategist of National Bank and Managing Director, National Bank Financial Stefane Marion ranked first among forecasters for Canada in the Top Forecasters by Region Covered of the prestigious Bloomberg Markets magazine.
The Bloomberg Markets ranking, published in the January 2012 issue, includes predictions during the two years started on Oct. 1, 2009 by 354 forecasters covering 11 countries plus the euro zone. The ranking measures the accuracy of economic forecasts in 13 categories, including gross domestic product, unemployment, consumer and producer price indexes, home sales, industrial production and personal spending.
This is the second time this year that Stefane Marion is recognized by Bloomberg as, in May 2011, he ranked second on the firm's Top Forecasters of Canadian Economy list. This latest recognition of Stefane Marion's economic and financial expertise follows that achieved by National Bank Financial's Economy and Strategy Group who ranked among top foreign exchange forecasters in the world, according to the list published by Bloomberg Markets in November 2011.
