Combination GSM/GPRS+GPS module in SMT package
(PresseBox) - Texim Europe provides the SIM908 from SIMCom, a complete quad band GSM/GPRS module combined with GPS in a compact, 30x30x3.2mm, SMT package. The SIM908 will significantly save both time and costs for customers to develop GPS enabled applications.
The assisted 42-channel GPS receiver features an optimized power management function, which allows it to maintain hot start capability (1 sec.) at minimal energy consumption. Thus offering variable assets to be tracked seamlessly at any location and anytime with signal coverage in a wide operation temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. The horizontal position accuracy of this module is better than 2.5m.
The module, with integrated TCP/IP stack, has strong extension capability with rich interfaces such as SPI, UART, RTC, SIM, dual analog audio, charge, debug and two separate antenna connectors for GSM/GPRS and GPS respectively. The , is compatible with the 3G module, SIM5320, which allows customer to design their application once for te two technologies and benefit from great development time-saving.
