Collective Agreement Ratified by the IBEW, Local 2228

(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 12/22/11 -- NAV CANADA today announced the successful conclusion of collective bargaining with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) which represents approximately 680 members. This group is comprised of Air Navigation Service technologists who are responsible for the planning, installation, proof of performance on various electronic systems and equipment and who maintain Air Traffic Management (ATM) and Communication, Navigational Aids and Surveillance (CNS) systems.

Members of IBEW voted in favour of the tentative agreement reached on November 25, 2011. The new collective agreement runs until December 31, 2013, and provides for wage increases of 3 per cent on January 1, 2012 and 3 per cent on January 1, 2013. A number of amendments also form part of the agreement, including changes to severance benefits.

Marking 15 years as Canada's private sector civil air navigation services provider, with operations from coast to coast to coast, NAV CANADA provides air traffic control, flight information, weather briefings, aeronautical information services, airport advisory services and electronic aids to navigation.
