The company has closed its initial public offering of 5,460,981 common shares at
a price of $0.10 per share, for gross proceeds of $546,098.10. Montreal-based
JitneyTrade Inc. acted as agent in the offering.
Golden Moor has a 20 year history in the health services industry, and several
years ago began focusing on the therapeutic benefits of humic acid. Humic acids
aid in preventing arthritic and rheumatic pain and give the body a sense of
well-being.
After investigating 63 separate bogs, they found the humic acid in a bog located
near Casselman, Ontario, to be of higher quality than any other location in the
world.
The company has developed a multi-stage production method, whereby the mud is
extracted from the bog, then ground, cleaned, washed, sterilized and treated in
a proprietary manner.
In 1994, the Golden Moor brand was officially launched and Golden Moor opened a
5,000 square foot manufacturing plant. In 1998, the Corporation began selling
directly to consumers. In 2007, it implemented a full-fledged affiliate program
through an online web interface.
The company's main market share is based on spas, estheticians, massage
therapists, orthotherapists, chiropractors, physiotherapists and beauty salons.
The company hosts training seminars in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver, which
are offered to spa professionals in order to train them on the features of the
various product lines. They have developed over 89 recipes derived from moor
mud, and offer products such as Mud Bath, Facial Mask, Body Scrubs, Detox Cure
and Nutritional Supplements.
In September 2010, the company sold the direct sales division to Genasante LLC,
who distributes the products in Canada and the United States through a network
of independent distributors.
