Progress in Mass Data Analysis of Signals and Images in Medicine, Chemistry, Biotechnology and Food Industry ? Report about MDA 2010 in Berlin

(pressrelations) -
The 6st International Conference on Mass Data Analysis of Signals and Images in Medicine, Chemistry, Biotechnology and Food Industry MDA 2010 held in July in Berlin showed once more that the event is a must for all mass data interpretation specialists from research and industry alike who like to stay informed about hot new topics in mass data analysis of signals and images. This year, papers on 2 general topics in data mining established at this conference over the years were presented. These topics are: Systems and Methods for Mass Data Analysis and Data Mining of Images and Signals. Under the first topic are presented methods for a lot of new automatic system for image and signal analysis for various applications such as applications for cheese making industry, medicine, drug discovery, cell biology and biotechnology. Under the second topic were presented new results for knowledge discovery in various fields that will help to built new automatic system for these applications in the future.

Selected revised papers of this conference will be published in the International Journal Transaction on Mass Data Analysis of Signals and Images (http://www.ibai-publishing.org/journal/mda/about.html) in October 2010.

We are happy to see that new automatic systems for the analysis of signals and images have been presented at MDA2010 and that a lot of researchers followed our mission to bring new signal and image analysis methods into real applications that introduce a new quality level to various real life applications.

Two papers were selected for Best Paper Award. The final decision was made based on the presentation and the discussion. The Paper "Combining Low-level Features for Improved Classification and Retrieval of Histology Images" by Juan C. Caicedo and Ebroul Izquierdo was selected as Best Paper at MDA2010. Congratulations to the winners.

The next conference will be held in 2011 in New York (www.mda-signals.de). under the auspices of the World Congress Frontiers on Intelligent Data Analysis DSA 2011 (www.worldcongressdsa.com).

We would like to invite you to contribute to this conference. Please come and join us.

Sincerely yours,
Prof. Dr. Petra Perner
