PETROTEC IS THE FIRST WASTE-TO-ENERGY BIODIESEL PRODUCER TO BE CERTIFIED
UNDER GERMAN SUSTAINABILITY REGULATIONS (ISCC)
Petrotec Biodiesel AG, the pioneer in waste-to-energy biodiesel production
operating two plants near ARA, has this week completed its ISCC
sustainability certification under the German sustainability regulations.
As with Dutch 'double counting' nearly a year ago and the British
'Waste-Transfer-Notes' system earlier this year, the company is at the
forefront of sustainable fuel supply for its customers.
From January 2011 onwards, only biofuels certified as sustainable will have
access to the German market and therefore the oil industry - who have to
fulfil a blending mandate of 7% - will opt for fuels coming from certified
bio-refineries, like the ones of Petrotec.
Petrotec's EcoPremium Biodiesel has the highest CO2 reduction on the
European market: 87% compared to fossil diesel.'
