ITS Power builds photovoltaic park on Spanish greenhouses
Zurich, April 1st, 2011 ? ITS Power, a Swiss solar company headquartered in Zurich, is building a 4.3 MWp photovoltaic park on top of greenhouses near Granada, Spain.
The company, which specializes in the development and construction of medium-sized to large-scale solar projects, received the major contract from a Swiss energy utility. The modules in the PV installation will be supplied by the Norwegian parent company, ITS Innotech Solar from Narvik, which returns solar cells to their full efficiency through a special optimization process.
ITS Power will represent the Swiss utility during the entire construction phase. The team around managing director Robert Kroeni is not only responsible for planning the park, but also for all project and quality management. "This plant is set to increase our portfolio of medium to large-scale plants in Spain to a total of more than 7 MW. As a full service provider, we will also be responsible for operating the plant on behalf of the utility company,' says Kroeni.
The plant is expected to go into operation at the end of the year, with construction scheduled to start in April. The three part projects have been awarded the feed-in tariff valid for the fourth quarter of 2010 and the first quarter of 2011 with 28.4 ?cents/kWh on the average.
The solar power plant erected by ITS Power will produce 6,200 MWh of green energy per year, enough to supply around 2,000 households.
