Cloud-Based, Social Business Solution Clearvale Improves Knowledge Sharing and
Provides Agility of Growth
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., 2011-05-18 09:00 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --
BroadVision, Inc. (Nasdaq:BVSN), the leader in cloud-based social business
solutions, today announced that Gemeente Tilburg will expand the scope of its
social Intranet project on BroadVision Clearvale and roll out immediately to
more than 2,000 employees.
Gemeente Tilburg is a municipality in the Netherlands that manages the City of
Tilburg and provides support for several surrounding towns and villages within
the wider region of Brabant. Already known for its openness to adopting new
technologies and methodologies, the Municipality of Tilburg was looking for a
way to improve communication among its employees, increase interaction with its
citizens and encourage collaboration among the public, businesses and
government institutions.
Utilizing BroadVision's Clearvale enterprise social network solution, Gemeente
Tilburg started a pilot program called 'T-Community' in May 2010. During the
pilot project phase, a series of communities was created to progress a host of
initiatives involving the City of Tilburg and the surrounding towns in the
region. 'T- Community' quickly connects the local government employees in the
surrounding towns and villages with their key counterparts in the City of
Tilburg in one integrated enterprise platform. The initial set up for this
purpose has now been extended to cover all 2,300 employees as Tilburg embraces
Clearvale for its internal communication requirements.
Compared with previous IT initiatives, the adoption of Clearvale by Gemeente
Tilburg has been fairly effortless. The Tilburg web team created the framework
and provided some general communities to get people started, including an
Instruction Community for new users to learn tips, tricks and best practices
for getting the most of their experience. Three hundred members were invited to
participate in the initial trial. Members set up their own profiles and began
creating communities for specific initiatives such as a Regional consultation
team for the middle Brabant region [ROM Community] encompassing members from
several of the surrounding towns and villages.
The success of 'T-Community' allows Gemeente Tilburg to achieve many of their
goals in a short period of time, including: dramatically increasing knowledge
sharing between Tilburg employees, creating greater internal connectivity among
employees of individual towns and cities, as well as throughout the
municipality of Tilburg, curtailing everyone's email traffic and its associated
processing overhead, decreasing response time to citizen requests, and
increasing the speed of problem solving and ideas generation. Currently, the
network has over 870 registered members and climbing.
'100% of responding users want to continue using T-community after the first 6
month evaluation. The response for Clearvale was overwhelmingly positive and
enthusiastic,' commented Michiel Duijsings, Web Manager of Municipality of
Tilburg. 'Clearvale gave us the opportunity to share information with the city
as well as within the organization. The possibility to create separate
communities is by far the most valuable featureas it gives us a measure of
flexibility that we really appreciate.'
'The municipality of Gemeente Tilburg has truly embraced the essence of social
business and excelled with it from the grass-roots level. This initiative has
become a lighthouse benchmark for all e-government initiatives, state or local,
across the world,' said Ian Heggs, EMEA Director - Business Operations,
BroadVision. 'We are very proud to have been associated with it from the outset
and continue to help government agencies worldwide leverage this and other
success stories to become more productive in serving their citizens.'
