Toromont Appoints New President and CEO

(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/11/12 -- The Board of Directors of Toromont Industries Ltd. (Toromont) (TSX: TIH) is pleased to announce the promotion of Scott J. Medhurst to the position of President and CEO, Toromont effective March 1, 2012. Mr. Medhurst has also been appointed a Director of Toromont effective the same date.

Scott Medhurst is currently President, Toromont CAT, the Caterpillar dealership division of Toromont. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Forestry Engineering from the University of Toronto, he joined the Ontario Caterpillar dealership in May 1988. In the ensuing years he has steadily progressed through equipment sales positions into branch and regional management roles to his appointment as President, Toromont CAT in September 2004.

Robert M. Ogilvie, currently Chairman and CEO, Toromont, will remain actively involved in the affairs of Toromont as Executive Chairman.

Toromont's Directors are delighted that executive succession is being accomplished by promoting from within the company and in an orderly phased process.
