Anjan Shah Combines Passion for Music With 18 Years of Marketing Experience
(firmenpresse) - FREDERICK, MD -- (Marketwire) -- 01/12/12 -- Music & Arts, the largest band and orchestra instrument retailer and lesson provider in the country, has hired Anjan Shah as director of marketing. A dedicated musician with a passion for music performance, appreciation and education, Shah contributes more than 18 years of experience in entertainment and retail marketing with a special emphasis on the music industry.

Shah comes to Music & Arts after having worked in the marketing departments of IKEA, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Borders Books and Music. He has also served as a marketing consultant for organizations like Yamaha Corporation of America, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Baltimore Choral Arts Society, North American Saxophone Alliance, Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, Michigan State University School of Music, Maryland Music Educators Association, Producers Inc., Artra Artists, Summit Records and Arizona University Recordings.
An advocate of continuous learning and higher education, Anjan has been a guest lecturer at several universities and schools of music throughout the U.S. and has been a contributing writer for Instrumentalist Magazine. Anjan cofounded the Capitol Quartet, featuring top saxophonists from the country's premier military bands, and as a freelance saxophonist, he worked alongside artists like Phil Woods, Ben Vereen, Hilary Hahn, Johnny Mathis, Natalie Cole, Linda Ronstadt, Marvin Hamlisch, Maureen McGovern, Michael Feinstein and Wynonna Judd.
Anjan holds a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University and Master of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from Loyola University's Sellinger School of Business and Management. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Music & Arts has served students, teachers, and families through retail stores and school representatives since 1952. Based in Frederick, MD, the company specializes in sales and rentals of music instruments, instrument repairs, and music lessons- especially for the beginning and student musician. Music & Arts now has over 100 retail locations across 20 states.
