Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, January 16, 2012 - Ahold has repurchased 2,838,367
Ahold common shares in the period from January 9, 2012 up to and including
January 13 , 2012. The shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 10.1261
per share for a total consideration of ? 28.74 million. These repurchases were
made as part of the ? 1 billion share buyback program announced on March
3, 2011.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 85,251,997
common shares for a total consideration of ? 776.32 million.
