Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, January 23, 2012 - Ahold has repurchased 2,256,797
Ahold common shares in the period from January 16, 2012 up to and including
January 20 , 2012. The shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 10.1833
per share for a total consideration of ? 22.98 million. These repurchases were
made as part of the ? 1 billion share buyback program announced on March
3, 2011.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 87,508,794
common shares for a total consideration of ? 799.30 million.
