EDB ErgoGroup enters into collaboration agreement for e-health care services with Medixine
(Thomson Reuters ONE) -
(Oslo, 26 January 2012) EDB ErgoGroup has selected Medixine as a new partner for
the delivery of mobile IT services to the health sector. Medixine offers some of
the most advanced solutions in the market for mobile e-health services. The
company's solutions facilitate the collection, presentation and monitoring of
patient health care information, and incorporate the use of mobile devices. EDB
ErgoGroup can now add these solutions to its total delivery platform for the
health care sector.
"Through this collaboration, we are expanding our offer to include more patient-
centric solutions. We look forward to offering these solutions to the health
care sector in both Norway and Sweden", explains Håvard Larsen, Head of the
Solutions business area at EDB ErgoGroup.
The collaboration provides for EDB ErgoGroup to offer Medixine's solutions for
patient-centric services in both the Norwegian and Swedish markets. This
accordingly strengthens EDB ErgoGroup's position as a leading supplier of e-
services for the health care markets throughout the Nordic countries. Medixine's
solutions will supplement the portfolio of IT solutions offered by EDB ErgoGroup
to support the clinical process, which already includes MetaVision, a global
market-leading clinical information suite, and the central message server for
the Norwegian electronic prescription program. Medixine's solutions will form
part of a new, patient-centric portfolio of e-health care services that will
also include the award-winning Connect concept developed by the Oslo University
Hospital in connection with the current program to promote greater co-ordination
in the Norwegian health service.
"EDB ErgoGroup's experience of the health sector and its ability to bring
together innovative products and solutions makes it a good partner for Medixine.
Working together, we will offer IT solutions for health care professionals that
will help to make treatment more efficient and increase patient involvement",
comments Dr. Tapio Jokinen, CEO of Medixine.
The portfolio of services offered by Medixine includes solutions for reporting
blood pressure readings using mobile phones and a range of tools to deliver
information and reminders for patient groups with various chronic conditions.
Medixine's services have attracted international recognition, and are currently
delivered to customers in Finland, the United Kingdom, Germany and the USA.
