Maxim Group LLC Expands Equity Research Department With the Appointment of a Senior Technology Analyst
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 01/30/12 -- Maxim Group LLC, a leading full service investment banking, securities and wealth management firm announced the appointment of Ashok Kumar as a Managing Director and Senior Technology Analyst.
Mr. Kumar's appointment is part of a Four-Point Expansion Initiative announced last year which targets key growth opportunities in the Equity Capital Markets arena. "We set a goal for 2012 to add several additional research professionals which will significantly expand our research coverage. The addition of Ashok, a well-respected analyst with a large institutional following, supports that goal," said Anthony V. Vendetti, Director of Research at Maxim Group LLC.
Mr. Kumar brings nearly two decades worth of technology and research experience to Maxim Group. He began his career at Intel in 1991 where he held several engineering and marketing positions. In 1994, Mr. Kumar joined Prudential Securities as a semi-conductor analyst in the Technology Group. He later expanded his coverage to include Enterprise Hardware and Telco Equipment Services. Mr. Kumar held similar positions at Piper Jaffray, Raymond James, Collins Stewart, and most recently at Rodman & Renshaw. He is frequently quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, Business Week, and Fortune, and is regularly featured on CNBC and Bloomberg. He was named to Smart Money magazines' 30 Most Influential People in Investing in December 2000. Mr. Kumar received a B.A. in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, a M.A. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, and a M.A. in Business Administration from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
