2007 Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts Coach Tony Dungy and Wife, Lauren, Aim to Raise Adoption Awareness on February 5th
(firmenpresse) - GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- (Marketwire) -- 02/03/12 -- This Sunday, February 5th, Super Bowl Winning Coach Tony Dungy and his wife, Lauren, will greet thousands of football fans entering the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, IN for Super Bowl XLVI. The Dungy's have recorded a 30-second Public Service Announcement (PSA), framing the current orphan crisis and need for broader adoption awareness. The ad will play on the electronic billboard at Lucas Oil Stadium where football fans will enter the stadium for the Big Game. The PSA ad is scheduled to reach Super Bowl attendees over the course of 15 hours on Super Sunday.
According to a national survey, 78% of Americans think the country should be doing more to encourage adoption. (Source: Harris Interactive National Adoption Attitudes Survey). The Dungy family hopes to influence more couples to consider adoption through their involvement with The Adoption Journey Project ().
The PSA ad highlights the site which was built for couples and families early in the consideration process about adoption. Content such as FAQs by peer couples that have already gone through adoption, stories featuring families and leaders involved with adoption initiatives, interactive maps that highlight global adoption needs, and biblical references related to adoption are being published on an on-going basis on the website.
