Garibaldi wins Obispo Concession at Sonora Lottery
Vancouver, British Columbia - February 1, 2012 – Garibaldi Resources Corp. (TSX.V: GGI) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has received final title documents for the Obispo concession from the Mexican Ministry of Mines. The Company's wholly-owned subsidiary Minera Pender S.A. de C.V. was awarded a 100% interest in 4620 hectares (46 square kilometres) of strategic mineral claims at the government lottery held on September 29, 2011. The Obispo concession is contiguous to Garibaldi's existing holdings and adds to the company's dominant land position at its district scale Tonichi Property (see attached map) 160 kilometres southeast of Hermosillo, Sonora State, Mexico.
Garibaldi's Tonichi concessions now cover 51,412 hectares and host a multitude of mineral prospects within broad zones of intense alteration over many square kilometres. These target areas are being explored for potential drill targets in addition to the Locust gold in soil anomaly which is presently being test drilled with the Company-owned NQ/BQ diamond drill at Tonichi north (see news release dated November 29, 2011). Mineralization in the area is prospective for large bulk tonnage gold and copper deposits.
