Tagged Social Networking Survey Identifies Flirtiest Valentine's Cities in U.S.
(firmenpresse) - SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/09/12 -- Just in time for Valentine's Day, (), the social network for meeting new people, announced the results of a new Valentine's Day study of the social networking habits of nearly a million Americans. In the study, Tagged identified Charlotte, N.C., as the nation's flirtiest Valentine's city, followed by Cleveland and Indianapolis.
Nearly 25 percent of all Tagged users in Charlotte sent winks, or flirted, during the week of Valentine's Day in 2011, while Cleveland and Indianapolis ranked closely behind. In related findings, more than 56 percent of users in Tampa, Fla., received winks during the same period, followed by Las Vegas and Charlotte, N.C., leaving Tampa the undisputed bell of the Valentine's ball.

*Most-winks sent and received during Valentine's week were measured by Tagged across over 959,717 Americans in 100 American Markets. Specifically, Tagged reviewed sent and received online winks and other habits from February 7 to February 15 2011.
Tagged researchers offered additional insight into the Valentine's-inspired findings. They noted that Charlotte's "got a lot" in cultural and sporting events, fine dining and welcoming southern hospitality. Charlotte is one of the largest and most accessible cities between Washington, D.C., and Dallas, and has earned the nickname of the "international gateway to the south," which points toward the friendly, open nature of its flirty inhabitants.
"Tagged often plays 'Cupid' for our users who are looking to meet a new companion so Valentine's is a great time of the year to explore the social networking tendencies of people around the country," said Steve Sarner, Vice President of Marketing for Tagged.
