Zumiez Inc. Relocating Ecommerce Operations to Kansas
(firmenpresse) - EVERETT, WA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/09/12 -- Zumiez Inc. (NASDAQ: ZUMZ), a leading specialty retailer of action sports related apparel, footwear, equipment and accessories, today announced the company will move their ecommerce fulfillment operations from their headquarters in Everett, Washington to Edwardsville, Kansas in May 2012 to accommodate their growing online business and to increase the speed of product deliveries to online customers.
The ecommerce fulfillment operation includes 35 Zumiez employees and 35 staff sourced from an outside agency. The 35 Everett-based employees were given sixty-day notice on February 9th and offered the opportunity to relocate to Kansas, or severance packages based on years of service and position.
"Decisions like this need to be evaluated carefully, especially when they impact our valued team members. As a company, we continually evaluate opportunities to increase the speed of delivering products to our customers while also improving our costs. The move to Kansas means that, across the continental U.S., our customers should receive their Zumiez order in three days or less," said Marc Stolzman, Zumiez Chief Financial Officer.
