Wilderness River Adventures Announces Special Interest Grand Canyon Rafting Trips

(firmenpresse) - PAGE, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 02/21/12 -- What do families, yoga, and professional
photographer Gary Ladd all have in common? They will be featured on brand
new special interest trips unveiled by Wilderness River Adventures (WRA)
for the 2012 season. Consistently rated among the top operators by the
National Park Service, WRA is introducing a series of specialized river
trips for those seeking unique adventures.
"Rafting the Grand Canyon is a one-of-a-kind adventure," says WRA's general
manager Breck Poulson. "Special interest river trips create memories and
experiences that go beyond the best regular rafting trip."
The outfitter is expecting excellent rafting conditions thanks to high
water levels in Lake Powell and controlled releases from Glen Canyon Dam,
directly upstream from the canyon. "Last year's near record-level snowfall
increased Lake Powell's water levels that will sustain Grand Canyon rafting
for several years," added Poulson.
Now is a perfect time to enjoy a specialty trip; seats are still available
on these and WRA's other wide array of adventures:
Grand Canyon Through the Eyes of Gary Ladd -- National Geographic and Life
photographer Gary Ladd will share what a lifetime on the river has taught
him. This trip includes photography tips, geology lessons and Ladd's
interpretation of the canyon. Aug. 24-31
Family Adventure Boat Trips -- This trip puts family first with activities
fit for ages eight and older. Rafters will spend time with other
adventure-loving families and create lifelong friendships. Jul. 6-13
Yoga in the Grand Canyon -- Combine rafting excitement with the relaxation
of yoga. This trip leverages the canyon's serene and awe-inspiring nature
to exercise body and soul. Professional yoga instructor Alex Smith will
lead daily yoga sessions suitable for all experience levels. Aug. 17-23
Wilderness River Adventures is currently accepting reservation for these
and other rafting trips this year. Visit or call
