Location Labs' Safely Division Announces Global Partnership With Telefonica
Safely, the Mobile Security Division of the US Company, and Telefonica, Will Jointly Develop Location-Based Services Aimed at Families
(firmenpresse) - EMERYVILLE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/23/12 -- Safely (), a division of Location Labs (), and Telefónica Digital have signed a strategic global agreement to develop safety and security services for families in the different geographical areas where Telefónica operates.
The Telefónica partnership marks a major international expansion for Safely services, which are already available on more than 180 million phones across Tier 1 wireless operators in North America.
According to Tasso Roumeliotis, Founder and CEO of Location Labs, "This is a major agreement for us since Telefónica is one of the most forward-looking operators in the world and is spearheading the roll-out of a new generation of services centred on mobile personal safety."
On the heels of announcing one billion location checks () on its Family Locator platform, Safely continues to build momentum with this Telefónica partnership which represents international expansion and addressable market growth of over 227%.
