This is the fourth year the physicians and staff of the Iowa Endoscopy Center will participate in the . Last spring some of the Center's gastroenterologists and their staff provided a free screening colonoscopy to several patients in Central Iowa. The goal this year is to again screen patients at the Iowa Endoscopy Center at 1378 NW 124th St. in Clive and also at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. This free screening colonoscopy is available to those who meet certain income requirements, do not have health insurance for various reasons, and are in need of a screening exam. One patient screened during a past event had pre-cancerous polyps removed. His physician, Dr. Stacey Roberts, one of the nine board certified gastroenterologists at the Iowa Endoscopy Center, said, "We not only can diagnose colon polyps during a screening colonoscopy, we can also remove the threat of cancer by removing them during the procedure. So, it is extremely important that everyone over the age of 50 be screened for colon cancer. This patient was very fortunate to have participated in this important event."

To participate in this screening you must meet certain criteria and register before March 22nd. If you or someone you know may qualify for this life saving screening exam, please call:
