Ahold share buyback update

Amsterdam, the Netherlands, February 27, 2012 - Ahold has repurchased 3,385,396
Ahold common shares in the period from February 20, 2012 up to and including
February 24, 2012. The shares were repurchased at an average price of ? 10.8051
per share for a total consideration of ? 36.58 million. These repurchases were
made as part of the ? 1 billion share buyback program announced on March
3, 2011.
The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 99,800,698
common shares for a total consideration of ? 928.43 million.
