Annual Cash Dividend Declared by Atlantic American

(firmenpresse) - ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/28/12 -- Atlantic American Corporation (NASDAQ: AAME) today announced that its board of directors, at its recent meeting, declared an annual cash dividend of $0.02 per share that will be payable on April 27, 2012 to shareholders of record as of March 30, 2012.

"While last year's dividend was characterized as a special dividend, the Company's continued strong performance has given us the confidence to declare this dividend as an annual dividend. Our 2011 results, which will be released later in March, will reinforce not only our belief in and commitment to the Company but our commitment to our shareholders to enhance the value of their investment in our organization," commented Hilton H. Howell, Jr., chairman, president and chief executive officer.
