Commitment to Transparency Helps Move Key Process Forward

(firmenpresse) - SACRAMENTO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/29/12 -- Timothy Quinn, executive director of the statewide Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA), issued the following statement today regarding the release of draft documents analyzing key elements and effects of the Bay-Delta Conservation Plan.

"ACWA applauds the steps the Brown Administration is taking as part of its commitment to an open, transparent process, including the release of thousands of pages of documents that goes well beyond what is required.

"Successful completion of the BDCP is key to the entire state. Though the state has yet to define a final proposed project, the BDCP is poised to undertake one of the most extensive habitat restoration programs in history in concert with other improvements to better protect fish and improve water supply reliability.

"The release of these documents for public review will allow for robust and open discussion among all stakeholders to evaluate project alternatives on their merits and move ahead with solutions."

ACWA is a statewide association of public agencies whose 440 members are responsible for about 90% of the water delivered in California. For more information, visit .
