Duesseldorf/Copenhagen, 01. März 2012 - As Facility Management (FM) gains more
influence in organizations and has to meet diverse challenges, FM professionals
need to be experts in their business. According to the International Facility
Management Association (IFMA), it is essential for the FM industry to be able to
anticipate and implement solutions to upcoming problems. "The facility
management landscape in Europe is changing, with facility professionals playing
a vital role and having a more expanded presence in the organizations they
serve. Therefore, it's more imperative than ever for today's European facility
managers to stay informed on the latest industry trends and best practices and
keep their skills current, so they can continue to rise to the challenges
they're presented with", says Tony Keane, IFMA President & CEO.

A major opportunity to ensure up-to-date knowledge on international FM
development is the European Facility Management Conference (EFMC) which takes
place from 23 to 25 May 2012 in Copenhagen and is being organized by IFMA and
the European association EuroFM (www.efmc-conference.com). "IFMA's partnership
with EuroFM, and the opportunities it presents, is one of many ways facility
professionals can achieve their goals and stay on top of trends such as

sustainability, communicating return on investment to executive leadership, and
keeping ahead of the legislative curve", Keane says. This year's conference
will, among other themes, focus on the connection of FM and corporate social
responsibility (CSR), added values provided by FM, sustainable environments, and
the contribution of FM to the "triple bottom line" (profit, planet, people).

Keynote speakers at EFMC 2012 will be Jeff Gravenhorst, Group CEO of ISS, and
Prof. Michael L. Joroff, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Urban Studies and
Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). More than 50 FM
experts from Europe and abroad will be speaking at the event. Following the
guiding principle "Global responsibility - local acting", the international
congress trade fair will present the latest findings from business and research
in the areas of energy and environmental management, building operation, FM
organisation, workplace concepts, risk and crisis management in FM, information
and communication technology and the European FM standard. Helena Ohlsson,
Global Facility Manager at IKEA, will report on implementing FM as a new
business factor in an organization. Leif Moellebjerg, FM Senior Director at LEGO
Systems, and Joseph Nazareth, CSR Group Vice President at ISS, will explain how
FM can obtain and support CSR. The contribution of Real Estate FM to core
business will be examined by Jesper Svensson, Vice President at Sony Ericsson
Mobil Communications, and Magnus Kuchler, FM consultant and partner at Ernst &
Young.

EFMC 2012 will present an expanded concept this year that is larger, more
interactive and even more practically relevant than ever before. It combines
both practical aspects and scientific approaches to FM in the Business
Conference and the Research Symposium, while the Round Tables and Speakers'
Corners promote the area of networking. The new concept increases the quality
and international scope of the congress trade fair, where relevant exhibitors
will also be presenting their services. A variety of specialist excursions will
be offered during the day on 23 May, before the organiser invites guests to a
welcome reception at Copenhagen Town Hall during the evening. The conference and
trade exhibition on 24 and 25 May will be held in the Bella Center, one of the
most modern trade fair and congress centres in Europe. On the evening of 24 May,
the FM awards will be presented in multiple categories as part of a gala dinner
held at the Danish National Museum. The large specialist and supporting
programmes at EFMC offer visitors the opportunity to increase knowledge,
exchange experiences and enjoy social events over the three days, as well as the
chance to get to know what is regarded as a particularly advanced Nordic FM
concept in a Scandinavian country.

The local host of EFMC 2012 is Dansk Facilities Management Netværk (DFM), while
other cooperation partners include the Centre for Facilities Management (CFM)
from the Technical University of Denmark, the Danish Industry Association (DI),
the Danish Association of Building Experts, Managers and Surveyors (KF), the
Danish Property Federation (DPF), the Danish Association of Construction Clients
(DACC), as well as the Danish Purchasing and Logistics Forum (DILF). The event
is being supported by ISS as Plantinum Sponsor, Sodexo als Gold Sponsor, and
Planon as Associate Sponsor. Further information is available
