Chevrolet-Buick-GMC-Cadillac February Sales Increase 16 per cent

(firmenpresse) - OSHAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 03/01/12 -- Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac dealers reported 14,258 deliveries in February 2012, an increase of 16 per cent over sales in February 2011. For the 2012 calendar year to date, GMCL sales have increased 1.4 per cent.
"For 2012, our dealers have the best and most complete product line up in recent memory, spanning all segments, from the entry level Sonic to the new Canadian-built Cadillac XTS," said Marc Comeau, vice-president of sales, service and marketing at GM of Canada. "Outstanding products combined with our intense focus on customer service, will continue to delight our customers and help us win in the marketplace."
Passenger car sales rose 5.8 per cent in February, driven by strong performances by the Canadian-built Buick Regal and the Chevrolet Camaro, as well as soaring sales for the Buick LaCrosse, up 53.9 per cent.
Customer demand for fuel-efficient crossovers remained high, with sales for the Canadian-made Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain, both Consumers Digest Best Buys, up 41.5 per cent.
Chevrolet and GMC pickup trucks continued to demonstrate their leading capabilities, with Silverado, and Sierra sales up 7 per cent.

Total GM sales were up 16 per cent compared to last February.
