EndoChoice Adds to Platform GI Services
Acquires Nashville-Based Endoscope Repair Company, Interactive Optics, Inc.
(firmenpresse) - ALPHARETTA, GA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/05/12 -- EndoChoice, Inc. announced today that it has acquired Interactive Optics, Inc., a Nashville-based endoscope repair company. Founded in 1997, Interactive Optics has been an EndoChoice strategic partner for the past four years. Financial details of the transaction were not released.
"This was a strategic acquisition for EndoChoice as we broaden our range of quality services and products for the endoscopy professional," said Mark Gilreath, EndoChoice CEO and Founder. "The technicians at Interactive Optics are simply the best in the industry, and we are pleased these professionals are joining the EndoChoice team."
Interactive Optics has an established national customer base, which it services from its state-of-the-art facility in Nashville. The endoscope repair functions will remain in Nashville after the acquisition.
Bergein F. (Gene) Overholt, M.D., MACP, MACG, FASGE of Gastrointestinal Associates, P.C. in Knoxville, TN, is a customer of both EndoChoice and Interactive Optics. "This acquisition is a positive event for the GI world," he said. "Both organizations have dedicated personnel and a deep understanding of the needs of GI. The integration of the two will create a stronger entity providing the high-quality, high-demand services and products that GI ASCs need."
EndoChoice recently announced that it is expanding its Alpharetta headquarters by 70%. This is the third time in two years that EndoChoice has increased its square footage to keep up with the company's dramatic growth.
