IPSO Announces the 2012 Series of Interoperability Tests and Spring Member Meeting
(firmenpresse) - COLORADO SPRINGS, CO -- (Marketwire) -- 03/06/12 -- The IPSO Alliance will kick off its 2012 season of Interoperability events in partnership with ETSI on an application level protocol Plugtest. This will be followed by an IP device interop in conjunction with the IPSO 2012 Spring Member meeting. The events will be held in Paris, France.
On March 24th and 25th, IPSO and ETSI will bring together companies from around the world to validate the understanding of the COAP base specification being developed by the IETF and to test protocol implementation interoperability and conformance. The test results will be provided to both the IETF and Internet of Things (IoT) communities to enhance the quality of these developing standards. Following the Paris IETF meeting (March 25-30), IPSO will host its Spring Member Meeting at the Hotel Concorde La Fayette on April 2nd and 3rd. The two-day meeting will provide members with committee updates and break-out planning sessions for ongoing protocol and device testing. Beginning the afternoon of April 3rd and running through the 4th, IPSO will conduct a set of tests to demonstrate a "whole system concept" and interoperability of IoT devices based on a new Machine to Machine (M2M) Profile being developed by IPSO. These devices will include fully embedded IP software from IEEE 802.15.4 through the application layer and include IPv6, UDP, TCP, HTTP, COAP and 6LoWPAN protocols interacting with graphical M2M web application. Additionally, IPSO plans to test direct device to device interoperability, which is required for the Internet of Things and M2M communications, as well as interoperability tests between heterogeneous networks. At the conclusion of the test event, IPSO will report on the current status of the Internet of Things Interoperability.
The IPSO Alliance is the primary advocate of IP for Smart Objects for use in energy, consumer, healthcare and industrial applications.
