California Women Lawyers Asks: What's the Best Piece of Career Advice You've Received?
Winning Submissions Featured at 2012 Annual Conference on April 20
(firmenpresse) - SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/09/12 -- California Women Lawyers (CWL) is seeking nuggets of wisdom from women attorneys. The statewide organization, dedicated to advancing women in law, asks lawyers to submit the best career advice they've received from a female mentor in building momentum toward its , "Practicing Law in the 21st Century: Enabling Women to Achieve Power Positions," to be held on April 20 in Palo Alto, Calif.
Women lawyers throughout California are invited to submit the best piece of career advice they've received from a female attorney mentor. This can be tweeted via , posted to CWL's or emailed to . The best submission will be awarded full-day registration to the CWL 2012 Annual Conference, which includes a breakfast, keynote luncheon, closing cocktail reception and full day of CLE programs.
"Women in today's legal marketplace confront a unique set of obstacles, pressures and cultural attitudes," said Neda Mansoorian, Chief Legal Officer of McManis Faulkner and Chair of CWL's Annual Conference Committee. "I have been fortunate in my own legal career to have benefitted from working alongside, and learning from, several female mentors. My hope is that by sharing the wisdom imparted by women who've achieved career success, members of California's legal community will be enriched, enlightened and inspired to blaze a trail for future women attorneys."
The California Women Lawyers 2012 Annual Conference will feature presentations from keynote speakers , and A series of lectures and workshops with some of California's most highly regarded women lawyers and leaders in the industry will discuss building networks, new areas of the law that will open doors for women and advancement to modern-day "power spots."
