Harmonic Energy Acquires Exclusive Rights to Carbonization Technology

Harmonic is pleased to announce that it has acquired an advanced Carbonization technology license from Kouei International. This acquisition gives Harmonic the exclusive rights to North America and Europe for technologies from Kouei Industries.
Kouei Industries is a Japanese engineering company that specializes in thermal degradation and has over 30 years of proven success. Kouei Industries Carbonization facilities currently produce "green" diesel, high tension steel and premium carbon black, all from scrap tires. Kouei Industries has constructed many commercialized tire carbonization facilities for the recovery of high grade commodities from waste/scrap tires.
Kouei Industries has partnered with Mitsubishi and Mitsui Bussan to commercialize the production of high grade nanocarbons for use in advanced scientific applications for manufacturing electronics, computer chips, new polymers and specialized military equipment applications.
For decades tires have been subsidized by government programs which have led to tires being stockpiled or illegally dumped after collection of the disposal fees, causing serious environmental damage with an abundance of tire fires across the globe.
Harmonic's new technology acquisition allows tires to be fully recovered into mainstream commodities that fit today's existing supply chain while substantially reducing carbon dioxide emissions. The carbon dioxide reduction is estimated based on the reduced emissions released in to the atmosphere when compared to current traditional methods of carbon black production by burning oil or natural gas as the primary feedstock for commercial grade carbon blacks.
