GreenLane Estate Winery took top honours at the 2012 Cuvee Awards in both the 'Best Riesling' and 'Best White Wine' categories for its 2012 Estate Riesling, announced Dianne Smith, Winemaker, GreenLane Estate Winery.

Often coined the 'Oscars' of the Ontario wine industry, the 2012 Cuvee Awards included a record number of submissions including 64 wineries and a total of 264 wines. The judging panel consisted of 51 winemakers who participated in a day of blind wine tastings.

"This is a tremendous honour for our winery and winemaking team. We have worked very hard this past year to bring an amazing Riesling to market that genuinely represents our unique, farm-first approach to winemaking in the Niagara region, and we are delighted that our peers recognized these efforts," said Smith.
