EPIC 5's 2011 Top Finisher Christian Isakson Selected to Be Official RYU Athlete

With the inaugural EPIC 5 event taking place in 2010, Isakson was one of four finishers in 2010 to complete the 703 mile journey over the course of five days (including a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run per day) and was the top EPIC 5 finisher the last 2 days in 2011.
Isakson, who believes "we all reach for something," has broken several fitness records and achieved other noteworthy goals he has set for himself throughout his career. In the upcoming months, Isakson is aiming for an Ironman completion time of 9 hours 30 minutes in order to qualify this season for the Ironman World Championship in Kona.

After hitting his 9:30 goal and competing in Kona, Isakson then plans to attend Ultra-man Canada (Day 1: 6.2 miles swim & 90.3 mile bike; Day 2: 171.4 mile bike; Day 3 52.4 mile run) and the Marathon Des Sables, a 151 mile Ultra-Endurance Race in the Sahara Desert over 6 days in Morocco (with over 15% of the race course covering sand dunes).
