Lantech PoE Switches are deployed in Korea Rotem Railtrain
(PresseBox) - Hyundai Rotem is the biggest Railway system and Railway vehicle manufacturer in Korea and one of the biggest rolling stock manufacturers in the world. With its strong competitiveness on turnkey service, Rotem is exporting their railway system and vehicle to Denver, Colorado, USA in which Lantech PoE switches, 210ps of IPES-2208C, were integrated in Rotem system for this project.
Inside the Rotem train, they need to connect Train control and monitoring system, Digital display system for bouncing stations, train number info for passenger as well as the CCTV camera , Speaker and Emergency interphone via sustainable network. Lantech IPES-2208C was chosen as matter of compact size, advanced security features, Ring topology to construct ruggedized network together with Rotem M12 system. The IPES-2208C was also connected by bypass line where prevent network from disconnection due to power failure. The dedicate bypass line were connected by Copper cable and will function normally when there is no power failure event, but to bypass connection to next neighborhood switch if any one has lost its power which will incur network disconnection incident.
The Lantech IPES-2208C is a 8-port 10/100BaseTX + 2-port 10/100/1000T/Dual Speed SFP Combo industrial switch w/8 POE Injectors. The SFP connection is suitable with 100M and 1000M Dual Speed. The full SNMP features are including QoS for 4 queues, 802.1q VLAN,IPV6, IGMP snooping and query, SSH/SSL as well as SNTP and SMTP etc.
Lantech IPES-2208C supports Pro-Ring (Legacy-Ring) and Pro-Ring II system, which is an auto-recovery path within 10ms up to 250 Lantech Industrial Switches. The IPES-2208C is designed to meet the demands of Industrial environments, comes packaged in a robust IP30 housing and has been tested extensively to meet Industrial EMI and EMC standards. Rigorous mechanical testing has also been undertaken to comply with free fall, shock and vibration stability test requirements, which ensure long term reliability in critical industrial environments.
