(firmenpresse) - In light of increasing energy costs and the need for technically innovative solutions for highly energy-efficient building and renovating, Salamander is increasingly concentrating on the further development of gluing technology for use with PVC windows. The objective is to meet the diverse requirements practically, reliably and consistently in tight cooperation with machine and glue suppliers as well as partner businesses.

The Salamander portfolio of services currently includes two options for bonding window panes: (wet) gluing of casement and glazing with liquid glues (WGS® - Wet Gluing System) and the dry gluing system, where the adhesive tape is already integrated in the profile (DGS® - Dry Gluing System). In this way, SIP partner businesses do not need to invest in costly new machines, which further improves the added value of the profiles.

For the gluing technology, SIP offers a recessed casement profile from the Salamander Streamline system series. The excellent insulating values of glued profile systems optimise the energy balance of a building through their excellent Uf and Uw values and consequently also protect the environment. Since there are no steel reinforcements in the sash, thermal bridges are eliminated and the thermal insulation value for standard window sizes has also been improved. The Streamline gluing casement has a Uf-value of 1.2 W/m²K, and with 48-mm glazing, a Uw-value of up to 0.81 W/m²K can be achieved.

The gluing system ensures safe load transfer, even with heavier glazing, and improves stability, especially when building custom shapes. Through the optional use of steel reinforcements, larger casement sizes can be realised. In terms of burglary resistance, the gluing system has significant advantages, because the continuous gluing line along the edge of the glazing, or in the projection, makes the window difficult to pry open or pass through.

The bond permanently ensures the stability of the casement. The low overall weight minimises servicing and maintenance requirements.

With this gluing technology, SIP offers its partners a forward-looking solution for process-optimised, performance-oriented and responsible profile processing.
