Sky Poker Deem Super Roller Event 'A Great Success'
Number of participants playing Super Roller surpasses host's expectations, as online poker gamers reap rewards over the Easter weekend

(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 04/13/12 -- Sky Poker, the giants, has crowned their Super Roller event 'a great success' after more than 300 poker players took part in their promoted poker tournament over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
In total 334 poker players entered into the tournament, surpassing the amount Sky Poker had previously estimated and accumulating a prizepool fund well in excess of the GBP 25,000 initially guaranteed.
The Super Roller event gave registered Sky Poker players the chance to pit their skills against fellow poker players in a tournament-based structure, featuring daily satellite rounds, evening semi-final play-offs and of course the grand finale itself- played out on Easter Sunday.
With the bumper number of participants, the prizepool fund equated to GBP 33,400 in total, giving players the chance to bag handsome sums of cash prizes. And of course that was what happened, with the top three highest-placed players claimed over GBP 3000 each ('chapperman' from Inverurie, Scotland, won the first prize of GBP 8,350, with 'Demiguise' in 2nd netting GBP 5,010 and 'nagrom' 3rd, winning GBP 3,340).
Commenting on the success of their Super Roller event, a spokesperson for Sky Poker said today:
"We (Sky Poker) are delighted with how the Super Roller event panned out. The event had a total of 334 runners, which generated a prizepool of GBP 33,400 - not bad for a busy Easter weekend!"
"It was well over the GBP 25,000 guaranteed prizepool in the end, and there was a real mix of big tournament players playing against those who had entered through the tournaments satellites for as little as GBP 5.30. Big congratulations to those players who managed to claim a stake of the prizepool!"
After the success of Super Roller, Sky Poker are hoping players will buy-into other, similar tournaments, including 'The Primo' the largest televised tournament on the Sky Poker website.
This tournament runs every Sunday night at 8pm and gives players the chance to win some hefty cash prizes- live. The Primo carries a GBP 55 buy-in, so the standard is pretty high, however players can enter via satellite rounds, like Super Roller, and there are expert players on-hand to impart useful tips and advice on Sky Channel 865.
