Minister Shea Promotes the New My Business Account Enquiries Service

The Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of National Revenue, and the Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism), announced today that it is now even easier for businesses to get information they can count on from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Starting today, businesses, their employees, or representatives can ask the CRA account-specific, tax-related questions through My Business Account and the CRA will answer them online and in writing, within a given time period -it's that easy!
"Our Government made a commitment to reducing red tape for businesses. The new My Business Account Enquiries Service is just one way we have made it easier for businesses to interact with the CRA," said Minister Shea. "Simply put, this new service allows business owners the confidence that within a reasonable timeframe, they will receive a clearly written answer based on the information they provide, that they can rely on."
As well, the Minister highlighted an important and welcome tax relief measure from Economic Action Plan 2012, namely, the extension of the . Just like in 2011, this credit:

"By providing entrepreneurs with the tools they need, entrepreneurs will spend less time struggling with burdensome red tape and more time doing what they do best: creating jobs and wealth for our country."
Minister Shea also highlighted some other initiatives which will reduce the burden on small business. The CRA also recently launched a Web page where businesses can access all available online options for managing their tax information.
