KUKA Systems receives supplier awards for outstanding performance
Not just one, but two awards(firmenpresse) - The technological leader from Augsburg has been officially designated "Supplier of the year" this month. System builder KUKA Systems received not just one, but two awards for its good cooperation with automotive customers over the past year. The best suppliers were rewarded for their continuous performance in 2011 with regard to innovation, cost management, project management, quality, reliability and sustainability.
And the winner is ...
The award ceremony for the "Supplier of the year 2011" award was held in March at the Detroit Institute of the Arts in Detroit. The performance of KUKA Systems GmbH in the implementation of projects in Europe was recognized at the highest level "The award acknowledges GM"s most important suppliers in 2011. Given our long-standing, reliable business relationship with General Motors, we are extremely proud that our exceptional performance has been honored in this way by our customer", explains Frank Klingemann, CEO of KUKA Systems GmbH.
This was the 20th time that the award has been presented, in recognition of the 82 best suppliers from thousands worldwide. "The Supplier of the Year award winners" partnership, dedication and commitment to consistently perform above expectations played an important role in GM"s success in 2011," said Bob Socia, vice president, Global Purchasing and Supply Chain. "In 2012, we will continue to improve supplier relations to achieve a world class supply chain focused on quality, capacity management and total cost."
According to General Motors, the winners represent the premier division in the automotive industry, as they are playing in the leagues with the most innovative technology, the highest quality, the most outstanding market launch support and the most competitive companies.
Award ceremony part II
Another important award ceremony was held in the Chinese metropolis Shanghai. The subsidiary KUKA Systems China, based in Shanghai, won the silver medal in the category "Excellent Commercial" from Shanghai Volkswagen. "KUKA Systems China has had a close business relationship with Shanghai Volkswagen for some years now. Last year, once again, we implemented a number of interesting projects together. This supplier award is confirmation of our successful cooperation", explains Dr. Tao Wang, CEO of KUKA Systems China.
