Press release, 23 April 2012

Helsingin Sanomat is the first Finnish media company to provide its new
subscribers with the option to combine their newspaper subscription with a new
iPad. With the iPad, Helsingin Sanomat can be read digitally anywhere. The
development of a new, package-based subscription method was requested by
consumers.

"Our goal is for it to be as convenient as possible to read the digital edition.
More than 50% of Finns who took our consumer survey are very or rather
interested in the option to also include an iPad in their paper subscription,"
says Petteri Putkiranta, Vice President, Development at Helsingin Sanomat.

According to Sanoma's international iPad survey, tablets are already among the
most popular online devices in households which possess one. They are used at
the morning coffee table, on the sofa and in the bed.

"Increasingly diverse ways of reading are commonplace. In addition, the modern
human is very mobile and the digital version of the paper is easy to carry with
you while commuting, for example, and of course also when you go to your summer
cabin. HS Digilehti has the editorial content of Helsingin Sanomat in digital
format. Our iPad app also includes Kuukausiliite and Nyt, the latest news on
HS.fi and a location-specific weather service. In addition to the iPad, you can
also read HS Digilehti using your computer or mobile phone," says Petteri
Putkiranta.

It is possible to include an iPad in a HS Digilehti subscription, and you may
also add the home delivered standard edition in your subscription, delivered
every day or during the weekend only. The iPad included in the Helsingin Sanomat

subscription is supplied by Humac People's Apple store chain.

"We have been looking for good content to support device sales, and this is
exactly what the co-operation with Helsingin Sanomat is all about. The new iPad
is optimal for reading the digital paper. It has top-notch screen precision and
since it is compatible with data transfer services in the mobile phone network,
consumers may also access digital content via their mobile phone operator
outside the wireless network," says Ismo Uosukainen at Humac People.

The monthly price for the subscription that includes HS Digilehti and an iPad is
?39.90, a weekend subscription that includes home delivered papers is ?44.90 per
month, and the price for the most comprehensive subscription that includes
Digilehti and a full-week home delivery of papers is ?54.90 per month. The
contract is fixed-term, 24 months.

Subscriptions that include an iPad will be available from 23 April, and a
subscription can be made online at HS.fi/ipadtilaus.
