NewVantage Partners Announces Upcoming Big Data Thought-Leadership Events

NewVantage will be participating in at Stanford University on May 9, 2012. The one-day thought-leadership program is being organized and hosted by Accel Partners and will feature a series of panels and fireside chats with leading entrepreneurs, researchers, and IT leaders in the Big Data ecosystem.
Dr. Barth will be a panelist at the to be held at MIT in Cambridge, MA on July 17, 2012. The forum is comprised of Chief Data Officers (CDO) and Chief Information Officers (CIO), and focuses on the growing criticality of the CDO role in modern organizations.
NewVantage Partners has established a Big Data and Data Science Center comprised of data scientists and experts in aspects of big data, advanced analytics, unstructured data, and high performance computing. The Center is pleased to name Jameson Toole as Lead Research Scientist. Jameson Toole is a PhD candidate at MIT, and holds an MS degree from MIT and a BS from the University of Michigan. He has received numerous honors including a Xerox Fellowship, National Science Foundation Research Fellowship, and Phi Beta Kappa recognition. NewVantage Partners will announce the launch of a Big Data Industry Survey to commence in June 2012. The survey will cover issues including organizational support and commitment to big data, budget size and growth, business and technology sponsorship, leadership of the data management function, and perceptions and misperceptions around big data.
