Philadelphia's Highly Anticipated Global Fusion Festival & Week Returns for Its 6th Year With "Rhapsody" Theme

The highlight of the Global Fusion Week is the much anticipated concert on which brings buzz-worthy talent to Penn's Landing, Great Plaza and draws more than 30,000 attendees. Past festivals have featured an array of headline performers including Melanie Fiona, Estelle, Eric Benet, Marsha Ambrosius, En Vogue, Jazmine Sullivan, Brenda K. Starr, Huey Dunbar, Oro Solido, Bell Biv Devoe, Bobby V, DJ Jazzy Jeff and James Fortune among others.

While GFF was initially produced by the Multicultural Affairs Congress (MAC), a division of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PCVB), this year MAC and the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC) are partnering to offer an even more spectacular festival than the past five years. This event makes entertaining all ages a priority by loading the Penn's Landing, Great Plaza with non-stop multicultural performances, ethnic food vendors, a "Rhap-City" Children's Pavilion, cultural activities, vendor giveaways, and much more. Attendees enjoy rousing performances from national award-winning recording artists, dispersed throughout the day with regional and local acts that represent Philadelphia's diverse ethnic communities.

This year's theme "Rhapsody," represents the ecstatic expression GFF creates as Philadelphia's unique cultures unite for one week, in the spirit of love and unity. During Global Fusion Week, locals and visitors take advantage of fusion-themed drink specials and restaurant discounts at numerous participating restaurants and bars throughout the city. "Fusion-inspired" performances showcasing the diversity of our region are also held at select Center City venues.

The Philadelphia Multicultural Affairs Congress (MAC), a division of the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau, was formed in 1987 as the first multicultural division of a Convention & Visitors Bureau in the nation. DRWC is a nonprofit corporation created in January 2009 exclusively for the benefit of the City of Philadelphia and its citizens. The fundamental purpose of DRWC is to design, develop, and manage the central Delaware River waterfront in Philadelphia. DRWC is transforming the waterfront into a vibrant destination location for recreational, cultural, and commercial activities for the residents and visitors of Philadelphia.
